Google’s upcoming device the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold

More information about the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 3 has been revealed through additional leaks. To be honest, Google, this has been the most leak-filled launch I’ve ever experienced in my career covering consumer technology.

As we approach the August 13 Google hardware launch, it feels like there’s a new leak every day. We already have a good idea of the products, their specifications, and how they look. The only missing piece is the pricing, which has been the subject of much speculation. Today’s leak is about the Pixel 9 Pro Fold and the Pixel Watch 3.

Rumors are circulating that the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be thinner than the Samsung Galaxy X Fold 6. According to Android Headlines, Google’s upcoming foldable phone will have a slimmer design compared to Samsung’s device. Google has a history of producing thin foldables, with the predecessor of the 9 Pro Fold being one of the thinnest in the U. S. The new 9 Pro Fold is expected to be even thinner, measuring 0. 41 inches (10. 5 millimeters) when folded and 0. 2 inches (5. 1 millimeters) when unfolded. This could potentially make it the thinnest foldable phone on the market upon release, although it will be on the heavier side. Current reports suggest that the 9 Pro Fold will weigh 9. 1 ounces (257 grams), which is around 10% lighter than its predecessor. Additionally, leaked promotional photos by Steve Hemmer Stoffer, also known as On Leaks and 91Mobiles, reveal details about the phone’s display size, AI features, and U. S. pricing. The smartphone will be available in two configurations, with the 256GB version priced at $1,799 and the 512GB model at $1,919, making them both expensive options.

I’m interested in knowing the impact the new super-thin smartphone will have on its durability. Even though a thinner phone sounds nice, I’m concerned about the possibility of it getting scratched or cracked.

Google Watch 3

Rumors are circulating about the Pixel Watch 3, not just about the Fold. The latest news, according to Android Headlines, suggests that there will be two watches instead of just one. Both watches will have slimmer bezels, resulting in larger screens.  The 41mm watch is said to have a face that is 10% larger than the previous generation. Google is also said to be releasing a 45mm watch in addition to the 41mm one from last year.

The new watches will feature brighter screens and 20% faster charging capabilities compared to previous models.

Leaked information suggests that both watches will have 24 hours of battery life with the always-on display enabled.

In a new Battery Saver mode, the battery life is expected to extend to 36 hours.

This has led to speculation that the watches will not use the Wear OS’ “hybrid interface,” which is known to significantly increase battery life.

In comparison, the OnePlus Watch 2 is rumored to have a battery life of 100 hours.

I have owned the last two versions of the Google Watch 3, and I am excited about the possibility of owning this new watch. I always appreciate a larger screen and a bigger watch. Additionally, longer battery life is always a plus.

I am looking forward to the new fitness features, such as the morning-based “Fitbit Brief” which provides an overview of my health and fitness information. The ultra-wideband support for better location tracking and the Offline Google Maps feature for navigating the streets of New York are also appealing.

However, I am unsure if the new audio and haptic cues are meant to improve custom runs, as I am not a fan of running.
